August 12, 1999 Driving to work today, I had many thoughts. One was that North Carolina is a really beautiful place, tree lined valleys and the like, but everything is obscured by smog. Through the windshield I watched as my car descended into a pool of haze. It's really sad; the highway is peppered with signs that say 'Keep NC Green'. Yeah, tell that to the commuters while they're already driving. I feel really bad that I'm contributing to this problem by living so darn far away from work, but I knew nothing about the area before I moved down here. I'm looking forward to getting back to my life of walking and mass transportation in Ann Arbor.
Just as I got to work, the song 'Freeze Frame' came on the radio.
Naturally, I knew it would be a great day as I love this song. I don't
think I've heard 'Freeze Frame' since I was 6 or so. One of my friends and
I even made up a dance to this song. What a great song. Anyway, I was
terribly wrong. Today was everything but a great day. I'll spare the
details cause I'm probably not allowed to talk about them anyway. [insert
sigh here]
