August 9, 1999 I'm justifying another gap in communication as I just finished redesigning things a bit. I hope this doesn't lead to much confusion.
I woke up at a beyond early hour this morning so I could get myself to the
airport in time for my 6 am flight to Raleigh. The world is a fairly
tranquil place at that hour, even in Detroit. The airport, however, is a
completely different story. I don't think I've ever seen that many people
waiting in line to check in or to get through security. Thankfully I had
an e-ticket, so checking in was not a issue as very few people seem
comfortable using the electronic check-in stations, but security slowed me
down considerably. After about ten minutes I made it through the line and
booked it down to my gate; C 16 is about as far away as you can get and
still be in the terminal. As soon as I got there, the gate agent started
boarding first class passengers. I was not a first class passenger and I
probably will never have the money to buy such a ticket for a very long
time, but I boarded with them anyway because I think I'm special.
