Today is my (sort-of) birthday! Whee! Today was a pretty darn good day. I woke up rested, took a shower and checked my email. The highlight of the overnight pile was a letter from one of my bestest friends, Shana, who is studying in Israel for the year. She wished me a happy birthday and gave me an update on what she's been doing. The nice thing about real, true friends is that you may not talk or write so often when you get busy but it doesn't mean that the other person isn't in your thoughts or vice-versa. Shana is a great person. She really is, and I miss her a lot. Then I had to go up to campus to meet with my partner from my database class, cause we had homework due at noon. How's about that? Homework due at noon on a Saturday. Bleh. The real fun began when I attempted to leave campus only to find that my car wouldn't start. Again. Jeremie came up to meet me, we got the car jumped, and I decided to go buy a new battery since I was still running on the original battery and it was being very poopy. Two hours, $60, and a little chinese food and we were on our way home. Tonight my parents drove over to celebrate my birthday with me. It really means a lot to me. I like my parents a lot; they are wonderful, kind, loving and just neat. Two thumbs up. So anyway, we went out and had a very lovely dinner at the Earle, which may be familiar to the Ann Arborites and umichers out there. It was excellent. I highly recommend it. After dinner we went back to my house for cake and presents. The cake was a Strawberry Royale cake from the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel in Grand Rapids. I also highly recommend this cake. To quote Ferris Bueller, "If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up." He was referring to a Porche. This is significantly less expensive, tastier, though not as fun to drive of course. I like presents. I got lotsa nice presents from my friends and family. I like birthdays. They are fun.
