November 18, 1999
Technically it is 3 in the morning on Friday, November 19 but I am going to say that it is still the 18th because I don't really count things as being "the next day" until I've slept a significant portion of the night or it gets to be light out again. So far, neither of those conditions have been satisfied. I made a nice dinner tonight but didn't get to eat any of it, which is sort of upsetting;my housemates seem to have enjoyed it, as there is very little of anything left. One of those terrible headaches planted itself in my brain around 5 and even though I tried very hard to ignore it, it tried harder to make itself noticed. When dinner was ready at 9, I was on the cusp between being able to eat and being just too nausious. (I can never spell that word right!) Some dinner table comments threw off that delicate balance, so I went to sleep with a big headache and no supper. Bleh. I slept from 9:30p-1:30a and now I'm up and feeling much better than I did when I went to sleep. I did a bunch of reading for one of my classes and now I'm not sure what to do with myself. I think I should try to take another nap soon, because if I try to stay up for the rest of the day I will be very, very tired around 4 or 5 pm. What to do, what to do?
Here--go play my favorite game. Click where the link is to 'cryptogram'. Ever since I can remember, my Rosen grandma (a.k.a. Baba) did a cryptoquip (as they were known in the print version of the paper, or at least in my family) over her morning coffee and grapefruit. I've never seen them in a paper other than the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. In my late teens I developed a taste for these fun puzzles and now my Toberman grandma (a.k.a. Grandma) clips them from the paper and sends them to me. They are much more satisfying to do on paper, but these are an ok second. I do the printed puzzles on a fairly regular basis, but for some reason I never remember to do the online one. Go figure.
