in love 3 times over

Last night I went to the philharmonic at Lincoln Center with Jeremie and Eric. It was a very good concert. I enjoyed the Ravel and Prokofiev pieces most. The Schumann piano concerto was good, but not my favorite. The weather was so pleasant last night that we decided to walk back to Grand Central instead of taking the subway. On the way we passed by the new Shops at Columbus Circle and noticed that the doors were still open so we went in.
The Whole Foods was the one store still open so we descended down the escalator and that's where I fell in love. It is definitely one of the top 10 grocery stores that I've been to. I only had a few short minutes to look around but I was very impressed by what I saw. Hopefully I can go back tomorrow to explore a little more. Jeremie and I are going into the city to do the Revlon 5K run/walk for women along with the FactSet team and then we're meeting up with Kate afterwards. I am very excited to do the walk but I'm not very excited that we have to leave the house very early.
The other exciting thing is that my Senseo just arrived from Amazon. I can't wait to take it home and make coffee. And put my other coffeemaker in the basement. Ooh, Senseo. It's blue. It's pretty.

When I woke up this morning I expected a day like every other day this week, but around 11a there was a break in the clouds
and the sun came out, leaving no trace of the cold and damp that covered us like a blanket for the past few days. It is
gorgeous out right now. I needed an excuse to take a little break so I took Tanvi to the post office so she could mail her taxes
and then we stopped at Starbucks. Tanvi managed to annoy the lady at the post office while trying to figure out what registered mail
really is and she was equally successful at Starbucks. She wanted an iced cappuccino and apparently that is not even in the vocabulary
let alone on the menu. The closest they could come up with is an iced latte. She and two baristas talked it out for a good five minutes
but I don't think she ended up with what she really wanted. It was hysterical.
I haven't annoyed enough people today. I need to try harder.

My ears feel better today than they did yesterday. Sarah and I went to spinning last night and it sucked. And we were pissed.
Instead of the really good teacher, there was a sub (I hope, not a permanant replacement). The music for the class is
completely teacher-dependent and this guy put together a mix of Phish and Pink Floyd. Good perhaps for smoking up/down and
eating nachos but not for spinning. The fastest song in the mix was Major Tom (Coming Home) by Peter Schilling. Had to
look up the artist on that one. You know the song... "4, 3, 2, 1, earth below us, drifting, falling...". Yeah. Please be
so kind as to hand me a break. With 10 minute slow rise hills to wonky music we were bored out of our minds.
I had soup for lunch today. It tried to poison me.

I took cold medicine last night in an attempt to fix whatever's wrong with my ears. It didn't seem to help
but it left me in a haze today. I hate nighttime cold medicine. It always does a number on me. I got to sleep
quite easily but I woke up a lot in the middle of the night because I was so dried out. Trying to remedy that
by sucking down liters of Poland Springs water. TG for the water cooler. Too bad I have a meeting in four minutes
and I'm going to have to pee like nobody's business during the whole thing. I should go now.
I think it's the Spinning that screwed up my ears. Breathing really hard and trying to drink at the same time
funked something up with pressure. Last night I told myself I wasn't going to go to anymore spinning classes this
week cause I don't want to break my ears before going on the plane this weekend, but I'm in such a pizzy mood that
I think I'm going to go tonight anyways. I've been going to 4 or 5 spinning classes a week for the past couple of weeks.
Yeah, it rocks.
